Volkswagen Australia 70th Anniversary celebrations
As part of our ongoing 70 year celebration of VeeDub in Australia, we recently embarked on a journey to highlight our amazing owners and uncover their unique Volkswagen stories, as a way to give back to those that have supported and shaped the brand here across the last seven decades.
We launched the #YourVolkswagen competition across our social channels to showcase the remarkable diversity of classic VeeDubs spanning all of those 70 years of being down under. This campaign encouraged owners to share a picture of their Volkswagen and any unique details of their VeeDub story, for a chance to win one of eight 70 Year merchandise packs.
From meticulously restored Beetles and Kombi’s dating as far back to the early '50s to modern, track-driven Golfs, Polos and Baja spec Bugs, the competition generated more than 450 eclectic entries from all parts of this great country.
Thank you to everybody who entered, the judging panel certainly had their work cut out to narrow it down to just 8 eventual winners!

The celebration doesn’t stop there though. We are about to set off on a Guinness World Record lap of Australia in our new all-electric ID.4, to draw the largest GPS image ever created by a car, comprising of the message of 70 years of VeeDub and a map outline of our vast continent, covering more than 33,000km!
Along the journey, we will be capturing social content, which will hero passionate lovers of our brand, iconic VW models with interesting backstories along with a number of our Dealers and their support for local communities.
