The Guinness World
Record breaking Amarok
A journey worth a
Guinness World Record
It’s no secret that Aussies are some of the proudest and most passionate ute lovers in the world. Brutally honest and unapologetic, you demand nothing short of the best from your trusted workhorses. So that’s what we set out to deliver with the Amarok, a ute built to handle Australia’s toughest terrain and even tougher standards. A ute born from tough love.
To demonstrate what the Amarok is truly capable of, we set a new Guinness World Record in the Australian outback, crossing 10 deserts in 7 days . Covering more than 6,000 km of some of the country’s most challenging terrain – all in the one Amarok.
We captured all the highlights, twists and turns from the journey as our team navigated the Amarok across the desert and into the record books.
So thanks for the tough love, Australia. This one’s for you.

Meet the Drivers
Behind the wheel of this record-breaking drive was Guiness World Record driver Rainer Zietlow, his co-driver and photographer Marius Beila and co-driver Brad Howes. Having successfully completed numerous world record drives, Rainer and his team were able to carefully plan the ideal route through all 10 of Australia’s deserts. Beginning their journey in Marree, South Australia, they crossed the finish line 7 days later in Alice Springs, setting a new Guiness World Record while demonstrating how confidently the Amarok tackles Australia’s toughest terrain.
